If there’s one thing most of us have in common, it’s that we’re all busier than ever. The world has become incredibly noisy; news travels at the speed of light, and everyone has an opinion to share. Between work, family, and other responsibilities, time to rest and unwind can be scarce. So, how do you find space for wellness practices at home? Personally, we love designing a peaceful primary suite. Part bedroom, part bathroom, the ultimate primary suite spa is more than functional; it’s an everyday retreat.

So, how do you design a spa experience at home? Below, we’ve compiled a gallery of our favorite serene, spa-inspired primary suites. Before you scroll, though, we also made a list of wellness-focused must-haves and home design ideas – take a look!

      • Keep It Simple
Less is more when pursuing wellness. Most peaceful spaces are quiet, calm, and natural – stay away from busy patterns, colors, and other selections.
      • Soak In Style
Of course, a gorgeous soaking tub is a must for any primary suite retreat! Nothing says rest and relaxation like a long, lazy, sudsy bath with Epsom salts.
      • Self Care Space
Spas are all about mind and body wellness; make space for meditating, your skincare routine, daily affirmations, aromatherapy, or anything else that makes you feel centered.
      • Heat Therapy
Stress, exercise, aging, or just chasing kiddos is hard on our bodies, so splurge on double shower heads, a steam room, or a sauna to soothe daily aches and pains.
      • Spa-Inspired Upgrades
The best part of a spa is pampering yourself! Install towel warmers, heated tile, or shower seating, and stock the vanity with face masks, soft towels, cozy robes, and fancy lotion.
      • Luxurious Lighting
Set the right atmosphere with lighting; mix overhead lighting with sconces, candles, and natural light. The goal is lighting that can flex with your needs and mood.
      • Bring Nature In
Many of us find refuge in nature’s beauty, so why not bring that peace indoors? Outfit your suite with plants, fresh flowers, natural materials, photographs, and oversized windows.
