Our Proven Construction and Design-Build Process
Remodeling your home is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Our process is designed to make each decision more manageable and keep your project moving forward with clarity. Throughout the process, our team works together with the unified goal of creating a home you will love for years to come.
1. In-Home Consultation
In our initial conversation, we partner with you to understand your remodeling goals, desired timeline, and the investment you are considering. Next, we will visit your home to look at your space, listen to your ideas, answer questions, and discuss any existing conditions that may affect the project. This meeting is also an opportunity for you to get to know our team and learn more about how Knight approaches projects.
2. Define the Vision
Once we understand your goals, we begin shaping a vision for your new space. Our design team explores layout possibilities, functionality, architectural details, and the overall look and feel you want to achieve. We will collaborate with you to make sure the design reflects your needs, style, and the way you want to live in your home.
3. Develop the Design
After a design direction is selected, we continue to develop the project in greater detail. Plans are refined, important construction considerations are addressed, and the project scope becomes more clearly defined. Our team partners with you to select cabinetry, finishes, fixtures, material selections, and more.
This step helps ensure that the design is both beautiful and practical before construction begins.
4. Finalize the Construction Plan
Before construction begins, we bring all the pieces together. Our team confirms the project scope, pricing, selections, scheduling considerations. In addition, our team prepares your project for construction including obtaining permits, ordering materials, coordinating trade partners, and developing the project schedule.
Careful planning at this stage helps reduce surprises and creates a smoother construction experience.
5. Build with Care
Your dreams are starting to become reality! Throughout the construction process, your project manager will monitor progress and serve as your primary point of contact. You can expect clear communication, organization, respect for your home, and quality workmanship from start to finish.
6. A Dream Complete
As construction comes to an end, we inspect the completed work, address remaining details, and walk through your new space with you. Finally, the dreams are reality – time to enjoy your new space designed and built around you!
