Family and entertaining were the top two priorities when it came to remodeling the entire main floor of this split-level home. The kitchen was moved to the front of the house, near the entrance to the garage, which makes putting groceries away a snap and allows the homeowners to keep an eye on the front door. A show-stopping granite-topped island provides additional prep and seating space, while cork flooring adds comfort.
A newly blended family in need of more space was the impetus behind this basement remodel. Style-wise the owners were looking to combine their love of nature with an "Up North" lodge-like feel. Different textures and earth tones were used to achieve that look in the wet bar area as well as a guest bedroom, a three-quarter bath, exercise room and family room.
